A young Paris-based illustrator and filmmaker who goes by the nickname Maeril has made an illustrated guide that teaches bystanders how they can help out people who suffer from Islamophobic harassment.
She was inspired to do so after the tragic events in Paris earlier this year, which caused severe pressure on the Islamic community in France. Maeril told Buzzfeed: ‘I’m focusing on protecting Muslims here, as they have been very specific targets lately, and as a French Middle Eastern woman, I wanted to try and do something to raise awareness on how to help when such things happen before our eyes – that way one cannot say they “didn’t know what to do”!‘
This flash of positive thinking really couldn’t come at a better time, considering all the hate the Islamic community is getting at the moment. Please link here to see the the full article>
