The City University Of New York and United Against Hate Hosted Virtual Webinar
The state University of New York (CUNY) and United Against Hate co-hosted a webinar. The 2-hour in-depth discussion of the prevalent problem to evaluate the root cause of hate, how to overcome it, and how to find unity across the divides by presenting real-life powerful stories. The discussion featured three board members of We Are Many-United Against Hate (WAM-UAH): Daryl Johnson, a subject matter expert on organized hate groups and domestic terrorism; Arno Michaelis, former White Supremacist who recruited people into supremacist hate group; Pardeep Kaleka, a former police officer whose father was killed in the Sikh Temple shooting in Wisconsin in 2012. Also joining the discussions was WAM-UAH’s founder, entrepreneur, and Anti- Hate Activist Masood Akhtar. The panel was moderated by Sahana Gupta, Chief Diversity Officer for the School of Professional Studies and School of Public Health, and Member of CUNY’s University Advisory Council on Diversity (UACD).
